Happening Hoops CBI bracketology

The CBI usually hosts a 16 team tournament at campus sites, but based on the information I am hearing from sources around the country it seems this year to be less than 16 and will be held at a neutral site.

With no NIT automatic qualifier bids going to conference tournament one seeds that lose we could see some of them in the mix for the CBI this year.

College Basketball Invitational (8-12 teams)

  • California Baptist (13-9 WAC)
  • Eastern Kentucky (22-7 OVC)
  • Bellarmine (13-7 ASUN)
  • Missouri State (17-7 Missouri Valley)
  • Chattanooga (18-8 SoCon)
  • North Alabama (13-11 ASUN)
  • Texas State (18-7 Sun Belt)
  • Toledo (20-7 MAC)
  • UAB (21-6 CUSA)
  • UC Riverside (13-7 Big West)
  • Tarleton State (10-10 WAC)
  • Southern Utah (19-3 Big Sky)

Some other teams to keep an eye on (Next Four Out)

  • Nevada (15-9 Mountain West)
  • UMass Lowell (11-11 America East)
  • Campbell (17-10 Big South)
  • Merrimack (9-9 NEC)

My CBI and CIT prediction rate per year

2018: 75% (27/36)

2019: 93% (39/42)

*2020: Minimum of 88% It was later determined three days from selection Sunday (at the time of the cancelations) I had correctly predicted what would have been 37 of the 42 teams confirmed in the fields. I have reason to believe over those next three days I could have predicted even more of what would have been the eventual fields.

Do you think ORU needs to get to the Summit finals to be considered for the CBI? If they lose to SDSU tonight are they completely out of the picture?

Any chance a power conference team gets in?
