George Washington entered Friday’s game beginning a season-long four-game winning streak. Being back on their home court was just what the colonials needed as they were 2-8 and on a four game losing streak entering the game against Coppin State (1-11).

The first half was back and forth with neither team getting a lead larger than six points. Both teams were shooting well from distance with each team making six threes. Coppin was up 33-27 before George Washington retook the lead heading into the break thanks to a corner shot from Joe Bamisile to give GW a 38-36 advantage.

In the second half George Washington pulled away quickly going on an 18-3 run out of the break. Coppin State rallied at times and even had the lead down to single digits when it was 60-51 at the under eight timeout, but the lead was too much for the eagles to overcome. The final was 75-62. Joe Bamisile recorded a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds for George Washington. Next up for GW they host Radford on Monday night. Coppin State hosts Towson on Saturday afternoon.
