Deon Perry had the green light early. This season he has routinely been shooting from well beyond the three point arc. He has been making enough of them to keep the defense honest too. The game was competitive through the first portion of the game, but Sacred Heart started to pull away midway through the first half. Sacred Heart forced Loyola into back to back shot clock violations going into the under four media timeout in the first half. This was part of a larger stretch of game play where Sacred Heart held Loyola scoreless for the final 7:05 of the first half. During that time the Pioneers scored 19 unanswered points.

In the second half Sacred Heart continued to cruise. Loyola got some of their bench players some playing time. Sacred Heart sacrificed a little bit of their lead at the end of the game, but still won comfortably by a score of 66-51.
